About the Role
We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Manager – Beer & Brewing to lead and coordinate regulatory and policy activities affecting the beer sector across the European Union. The role covers EU and national legislation impacting, amongst others, beer production, ingredients and labelling.
You will act as a key regulatory expert and interface between brewers, EU institutions, potentially international institutions, national authorities, and sector partners, helping the brewing sector navigate an evolving regulatory landscape and supporting evidence-based policymaking.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis
•  Monitor, analyse, and interpret scientific, regulatory, and policy developments at EU and Member State level relevant to beer and brewing.
•  Track legislative initiatives and policy debates related to, e.g.:
o Food law and hygiene
o Brewing ingredients
o Labelling and consumer information
o Nutrition and health claims
o Food contact materials
•  Assess regulatory impacts and risks for the brewing sector and identify opportunities for engagement.

Policy & Advocacy Support
•  Draft regulatory briefings, position papers, consultation responses, and internal guidance documents.
•  Coordinate and respond to EU and national public consultations and calls for evidence, including data collection and analysis
•  Support the development and implementation of EU-level advocacy strategies for the beer sector.

Stakeholder & Committee Management
•  Liaise with EU institutions (European Commission, Parliament, Council), national authorities, and relevant agencies.
•  Represent the organisation and the beer sector in external meetings, expert groups, workshops, and conferences.
•  Organise and manage technical and regulatory committees or working groups with The Brewers of Europe members
•  Collaborate with supply chain partners, sector associations, and European counterparts.

Internal Coordination & Knowledge Sharing
•  Provide expert regulatory advice to internal working groups and members.
•  Deliver clear written summaries and verbal updates on regulatory developments.
•  Contribute to internal and external communications, including regulatory toolkits, guidance documents, and website content.
•  Maintain up-to-date regulatory documentation and internal knowledge resources.

Required Qualifications & Experience
•  University degree in Food Science, Brewing Science, Chemistry, Law, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
•  Strong knowledge of EU food law.
•  Familiarity with brewing processes, beer ingredients, and production standards is a strong asset.
•  Experience working with EU institutions, national authorities, or trade associations is highly desirable.
•  Strong analytical skills and ability to assess complex legislation and translate it into practical guidance.
•  Excellent drafting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
•  Fluency in English is essential; additional EU languages are an asset.
•  Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a dynamic policy environment.
•  Basic knowledge of the brewing process is an advantage
•  Knowledge of event organisation
