This Sunday 26 May, in the presence of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, will open the 34th Congress of the European Brewery Convention (EBC). Over the following five days, an estimated six hundred master brewers, managing directors, technicians, professors, suppliers and others will meet to hear about and discuss the latest technical and political challenges facing the brewing sector and the effective and innovative solutions being found to meet these issues head on. With an estimated four thousand breweries in the EU brewing forty thousand different brands and over one hundred different beer styles, Europe remains both at the heart of brewing tradition and at the cutting edge of brewing technology globally. The EBC Congress will be followed by the annual general meetings of The Brewers of Europe, which will gather Chief Executives of brewing companies and national brewers’ associations from across Europe. The week culminates with the Luxembourg beer festival on the Place Guillaume on 30th May, where consumers will be able to taste a large variety of beers from across Luxembourg.
